Genymotion Cloud SaaS becomes Genymotion SaaS!


The user interface has been completely redesigned to provide you with a modern web application to manage your Android virtual devices in the Cloud.New features:

  • Homepage now lists your running virtual devices in a customizable table.
  • You can now start, stop and save virtual devices directly on this page.
  • Emulator player has been maximized and uses dark theme.
  • Templates are now Recipes: default (delivered by Genymotion) or custom (shared or saved).
  • Collaboration features: inviting users, sharing recipes and live sessions have been reworked to facilitate teamwork.
  • All pages are now responsive (laptops & mobile support).
  • Administration: managers can now promote invited users as managers.

Breaking changes:

  • Applications dedicated page is going to be reworked and has been removed for now, but you can still upload APKs to your devices!
  • Administration: User groups page has been temporarily removed as it is incomplete. It will be back with new features later. Stay tuned!

  • Platform status directly visible in Sidenav.
  • User profile: Easily set your avatar & name.

Android 11

  • Brings Opengapps installation support in Android 11 using the Upload widget or Drag’n drop feature.
  • Reduces boot time due to a wrongly configured component in Android 11.
  • Fixed screen density and resolution configuration not being applied correctly.

Bug Fixes

  • gmtool: The ‘gmtool admin list’ command now displays the right IP for each listed device instead of 0.0.0.0 (this was a regression introduced in 3.2.0 by a change meant to improve performance).
  • application sharing: On Android 10, foreground application detection was not working, making application sharing not possible. It is fixed now.
  • player: Improved device startup reliability on slow computers. Also, Player window stays in place after performing an ‘adb reboot’. Finally, device reconnection issues for Android 9 have been fixed.
  • zsh: Fix gmtool zsh completion when installing Genymotion as root.

New Genymotion Virtual Devices version 2.17 for Genymotion Desktop and Genymotion SaaS (Cloud) have been released.

New features

  • Android now reports a speed, instead of 0, when using the GPS widget.

Bug Fixes

  • Microphone has been fixed for Android 5.0 to 10.0.
  • SELinux policy failure errors have been fixed.
  • Devices no longer crash when data saver mode is enabled.

How to get a quote for multiple Business Licenses?

  1. You need a Genymotion Desktop account. If you haven’t one yet, you can create it here.
  2. After creation and activation, or if you already have an account, follow this link.
  3. Add the number of desired licenses to your shopping cart and click “Continue to Billing”
  4. Add a shipping address, or select one if you already created one.
  5.  In the next page, click “Get a quote”:

Personal Use - Free

Genymotion Desktop for personal use is not suitable for trial or POC: you will not get any assistance and some features will be disabled. If you have already selected “personal use” and wish to get a trial license, please contact our Sales at [email protected].

Technical support is not available with Genymotion Desktop free edition for personal use. For more details, please refer to Genymotion conditions of use (Personal Use).

Follow these steps to get Genymotion Desktop and activate personal use mode:

  1. Go to the Download page and get the latest version for your system.
  2. Follow the instructions from Genymotion Desktop quickstart guide to install Genymotion Desktop.
  3. Launch Genymotion and click CREATE to create an account. You should receive an activation email within an hour. If not, make sure to check your spam.
  4. After activating your account, return to Genymotion and log in with your credentials.
  5. Select personal use when prompted.
  6. Read Genymotion Desktop quickstart guide carefully to setup Genymotion for your needs.
