We are delighted to announce the release of ARM servers in Genymotion SaaS; a major milestone for our platform!
You can now run Android virtual devices directly on ARM architecture, thus providing an environment that mirrors real Android smartphones. This release brings your emulator experience and application development closer than ever to real-world conditions!
Why are ARM servers a Game-Changer?
As most Android smartphones are powered by ARM architecture, the ability to run virtual devices on ARM servers provides significant advantages for developers. Previously, our platform only supported x86 and x86_64 architectures. As a result, ARM applications required ARM translation tools to run, which could bring performance, accuracy and even compatibility issues.
Our new ARM servers are equipped with powerful GPUs, enhancing your virtual devices performance. This allows for faster rendering, smoother simulations, and more accurate testing of graphics-intensive apps and games. Whether you’re working on a resource-heavy game or an app with complex graphical elements, GPU acceleration ensures that our Android emulator matches real-world conditions.
Additionally, with ARM architecture support, more apps are available from the Google Play Store. You can now install and enjoy popular apps like TikTok, Instagram, or even games such as Roblox or Free Fire.

Running ARM apps natively enables a more precise testing experience and better optimization, ensuring that your apps perform exactly as they would on real ARM-powered smartphones and tablets.
A seamless transition on Genymotion SaaS and our CLI gmsaas
It’s easier than ever to take advantage of our new ARM architecture! If you’re an existing customer, simply head to your dashboard where you’ll find pre-configured arm64 official recipes that you can run directly, as well as arm64 official os images you can use to create custom virtual devices.
Just hit the start button, and voilà – you’re up and running!

Additionally, we released a new version of our CLI gmsaas! You can now seamlessly integrate ARM-powered virtual devices into your workflows, allowing you to use all the existing features such as listing, starting, and stopping devices, as well as securely connecting to them via Android Debug Bridge (ADB).

Note
Please note that upgrading gmsaas to the latest version is mandatory to ensure compatibility and take full advantage of these new features.
Key benefits of using our ARM-powered virtual devices
- ARM compatibility: Most Android devices run on ARM processors, and now you can ensure that your app is fully compatible with this architecture. If you were previously limited to ARM builds only, this new release unlocks the ability to use Genymotion in your development process.
- Faster debugging cycles: Running apps natively on ARM hardware enables quicker, more accurate debugging and performance testing. This allows you to identify issues that may have been hidden or altered when running the app on x86 hardware.
- Seamless app deployment: ARM servers streamline the deployment process, allowing you to test exactly what will be seen on the actual devices used by your customers.
- GPU acceleration: Thanks to powerful GPUs in our ARM servers, the performance of graphics-intensive apps are enhanced. This ensures smoother rendering and more accurate testing, helping you deliver the best user experience.
- Apps availability: With ARM architecture support, more apps become available from the Google Play Store.
