Genymotion 2.9.0 (April 13, 2017)

Improvements

  • Added Android Nougat 7.1 now available in the list of versions.
  • Added a trial version of Genymotion, It gives access to every features of the Business license for 30 days.
  • Genymotion’s EULA is now displayed in the software after any new installation and it must be explicitly accepted to be able to use the software.
  • Displayed User ID in the about pop-up
  • Optimized ADB tunnel – tool enabling remote connection with cloud devices. It is now 50% faster during data transfers
  • Removed device automatic shutdown when battery is empty.
  • Fixed a race condition at device boot that could slow down the booting process.
  • Added 4 new system properties that can be updated from command line, allowing better emulation of real device characteristics.
  • Updated ADB to last version. It is faster and produces better behaviors after hibernation.

Corrections

  • Fixed a lock file on Genymotion settings preventing Genymotion launch on Linux distributions.
  • Fixed a bug making device characteristics incorrect when sent to Genymotion Cloud.
  • Removed unneeded libraries from Linux package (libdrm or libxcb for instance)
  • Fixed a bug causing temporary files to remain after canceled shares to Genymotion Cloud.
  • Removed an irrelevant warning about minor version mismatch in genyshell.
  • Fixed a bug causing Genymotion Cloud shared device cache not being updated.
  • Removed a wrong token expiration notification.
  • Added an error warning when gmtool detects ambiguous parameters.
  • Fixed the output of ImageReader’s images.

Kernel Update

  • For Android 5.0, 5.1 & 6.0, Linux kernel has been updated from version 3.10.0 to version 4.4.10

How to get a quote for multiple Business Licenses?

  1. You need a Genymotion Desktop account. If you haven’t one yet, you can create it here.
  2. After creation and activation, or if you already have an account, follow this link.
  3. Add the number of desired licenses to your shopping cart and click “Continue to Billing”
  4. Add a shipping address, or select one if you already created one.
  5.  In the next page, click “Get a quote”:

  6. A quote will be automatically generated in PDF format.

Personal Use - Free

Genymotion Desktop for personal use is not suitable for trial or POC: you will not get any assistance and some features will be disabled. If you have already selected “personal use” and wish to get a trial license, please contact our Sales at [email protected].

Technical support is not available with Genymotion Desktop free edition for personal use. For more details, please refer to Genymotion conditions of use (Personal Use).

The following features are not available in personal use mode:

  • Latest available Android version
  • Quick boot
  • Camera and Media injection widgets
  • Network profiles
  • gmtool full commands
  • GPS route simulation

Follow these steps to get Genymotion Desktop and activate personal use mode:

  1. Go to the Download page and get the latest version for your system.
  2. Follow the instructions from Genymotion Desktop quickstart guide to install Genymotion Desktop.
  3. Launch Genymotion and click CREATE to create an account. You should receive an activation email within an hour. If not, make sure to check your spam.
  4. After activating your account, return to Genymotion and log in with your credentials.
  5. Select personal use when prompted.
  6. Read Genymotion Desktop quickstart guide carefully to setup Genymotion for your needs.
